I’ve always wondered about how Hollywood will be able to ultimately brain wash the mass into accepting abortion.

I mean, it is against every motherly instinct to kill their own babies. Motherly instinct is so strong.

But of course Hollywood has done these kind of things before. And the formula is always the same.

Good to be reminded that everything on TV has agenda.

The primary and most important aspect of hearing the proclamation of Jesus Christ for sinners is for pouring faith into our hearts, for that faith to grasp Christ’s mercy. Without Christ and the message of His Cross (life, death, AND resurrection, turning aside God’s wrath, waking us from death)we have no Hope that we are right before God, and if we do not trust in Him and the truth that He is our sin bearer, then we will come to God on the basis of our own “goodness,” and that is to paraphrase Martin Luther, “the most dangerous and corrupt of all sins.” Our desire to immitate Christ will happen, but it is of secondary importance and in consequence of our being brought from death to life. I would also argue that imitation of Christ doesn’t come from study of the Gospel (Jesus Christ, who He is, what He does), but out of God’s revealed will, the Law. The Gospel restores us to a proper and right humanity, God’s Law tells us how restored humans are to live.

I therefore go to Church to hear that I am God’s child on account of Christ, that I am not property of the devil, but of Gods. And because I am God’s own child, I am free to serve my neighbor, and walk in His precepts not out of appeasement of God, but out of a desire to live in His creation as a new creature.

Sorry if I was not clear and maybe I’m misunderstanding your blog here. All I wanted was to point out that the two are connected both instructions and standards given to us, to which we should stay very closely and not neglect them. At the same time I agree with you 100% that we need Christ and should focus on him. Like you I would say too many times we have empty teaching that has no real contact, and therefore our spiritual engines never start we need that which we will only find in Lord Jesus. This will help us in imitating him and as such it does achieving the two very important objectives. 1. To be close to Christ and 2. To be like Christ. My intention was not to criticize I guess I was just thinking out loud. As I would guess you are in agreement with this statement.
